Smooth helps you understand meals, energy, satiety, and nutrition patterns through AI-assisted estimates. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
2. Who we are
Smooth is operated by Smooth, with support available at support@getsmoother.com.
3. Data we collect
- Account data, such as email address, login provider, and user ID.
- Meal data, such as meal photos, descriptions, scan results, macro and micronutrient estimates, Smooth Grade, and timestamps.
- Wellness preferences, such as goals, activity context, and body or fitness goals if you choose to provide them.
- Subscription and payment metadata, such as plan, Stripe customer or subscription IDs, and payment status. Smooth does not store full card details.
- Technical data, such as device and browser information, IP logs where applicable, security logs, and service diagnostics.
- Communication data, such as support requests, feedback, and messages you send us.
4. Why we use data
- To provide AI-assisted meal analysis and nutrition intelligence.
- To show your dashboard, scan history, trends, and daily rhythm insights.
- To personalize practical suggestions and wellness habit support.
- To manage subscriptions, trials, billing status, and access limits.
- To improve product reliability, security, and performance.
- To prevent abuse, enforce fair use, and secure the service.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting, and operational obligations.
5. Wellness data
Some information you provide may relate to your nutrition, body goals, activity, or wellness habits. Smooth treats this information with extra care. Smooth does not use this information to diagnose, treat, or prevent disease.
6. AI processing
Smooth may send meal photos, meal descriptions, and relevant context to AI service providers to generate estimates and suggestions. AI outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate and should be treated as educational estimates.
7. Legal bases
Depending on where you live, we may rely on the following legal bases:
- Service or contract necessity to provide Smooth features you request.
- Consent for optional wellness personalization where required.
- Consent for marketing communications and optional marketing cookies.
- Legal obligations for payment, tax, accounting, and compliance needs.
- Legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention, reliability, and product improvement.
8. Service providers
Smooth may use trusted providers for hosting, database and authentication, payment processing, AI processing, email or support tools, and analytics tools if enabled with consent. Current or expected providers may include Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, and OpenAI.
9. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside your country or the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections.
10. Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account exists.
- Meal scan data is retained until you delete it or your account is deleted, subject to operational and legal requirements.
- Payment and accounting records are retained as required by law.
- Technical and security logs are retained for limited periods.
- Meal photos may be processed to generate analysis and may be stored if needed to provide scan history or app functionality.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
